I'm sure some of you have gone through having your son or daughter graduate from the 8th grade. It's sort of a big thing, right? Well, yeah, my daughter graduates next year and then moving onto high school icon_cry.gif She was just a baby not too long ago! icon_cry.gif
Anywho, I would like to know what sort of 'graduation gifts' you were given at the banquet because I'm part of a committee that is taking care of this part. There were a few mentions of candles, shirts, hats and such. Any ideas? Would you think cookie favors would do? What cutter would look nice? Any photos would really help too! Thanks a lot!

One of the things that was really popular when my girls were in that group was a t-shirt with the school name or emblem and permanent markers. Kids at that age have a sense of loss when leaving a group so they seem to take comfort in being able to sign names on t-shirts and it is a nice momento in later years.

We also did the t-shirts ideas for graduation years ago. It is a great idea. Especially if they will all be going to different high schools next year. They did ours by having everyone sign a sheet of paper. Then took all the singature and arranged them around the school mascot. Which went to a tshirt printing place. They made a screen from it and printed the shirts.

We also did a group photo towards the end of the year which was in a book with your diploma on one side and the group picture on the other. The photo was informal. It was take on the playground equipment at a local park.

Hope that helps!?!
