could someone answer a question for me, please?

Is it alright to cover a cake with fondant directly out of the refridgerator
or do I need to let the buttercream frosted cake come to room temp
before covering with fondant? Also will a cold cake underneath make
it harder to work with the fondant? I will be using SatinIce on this
cake, it will be my first time using this brand of fondant, are there any
helpful hints for this brand?

Any helpful hints would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance! icon_smile.gif

Welcome to cakecentral! Glad to have you here!

I would bring the cake to room temperature before putting on the fondant...you don't want to trap any condensation under the fondant!

As for Satin Ice..it's the best IMHO! The only advice I would give is to let you know it is very stretchy, so don't roll it out too thin!

LOL, I use Satin Ice on chilled buttercream-frosted cakes. icon_smile.gif I find that the condensation helps the fondant adhere better to the cake.

Lots of people do things different ways. icon_biggrin.gif
