Hi All.....I just had to share! I've not been on in a long time because I sold my very first wedding cake tonight and have been working like crazy trying to get myself organized. (I also am hosting my other nieces fairy tea party this weekend, so I've been inundated with all kinds of little things). The phone call for the cake came out of the blue!
I am going to do a simple 3 tier buttercream icing cake with swiss dots and ribbon for December 17th. The bottom layer is going to be Vanilla with white ganache and raspberry, and the 2nd level is going to be Tiramisu cake. The couple was very nice, and they are actually excited about me having them do their cake!! They told me that some woman I don't even know was raving about my cakes! They even paid in full!! Geesh!! Talk about heading down a new path!!
I don't think I was this nervous about doing my own wedding cake!!
Anyway, I promise to post pictures when it's done!! Thanks for letting me share my excitement!!

Thanks! I forgot to mention; this couple called the other cake designer in town who is quite high end (and also sort of snobby and not so nice when people call her for inquiries). The bride actually had an appointment with her. After having spoken with me on the phone, she immediately called the snobby cake lady and cancelled. She said she felt right about going with me on the cake. YAY!!
(So sorry, I'm going on and on......I'm just so excited about this! My first paid wedding cake!!)

Congratulations! How exciting! I made a baby shower cake this weekend for a shower that I attended and one of the guests asked if I could make her wedding cake. I said Sure, Are you getting married? And she said Not yet--but she wanted to get her order in! Hah! I love the swiss dotted cakes--simple and elegant--and what a compliment to you with how the whole deal went down! Wonderful!
