Yep, I'm here and all set up. I was setting up at 4pm sharp. I got here yesterday and only had minor patch up jobs to do. Of course, I set my cake down in the wrong spot and had to move it. THEN one of my accents fell and chipped off some piping. A really wonderful lady helped me find a tip and lent me a bag to fix it. I'm so bad with names, I've already forgotten hers, but she and her daughter are in my hotel, the Holiday Inn Select. Any of you there? Of course, if you answer I may not find out, since it was hard to get access to this 'puter.
I have seen some awesome cakes so far. No way I'm placing next to these creations, but I'll count it as an education. Can't wait to meet you all.....gotta find Fish Daddy's, my garmin didn't recognize the name.
Moy and I will be there!! No pink shirts, but look for a little brunette in a cropped denim jacket and a slightly more ample blonde in a maroonish shirt with a sparkly butterfly on the front! (It's ok for me to say that... I'm the ample one! Hehehee!)
Oh, and no I didn't enter this year. I decided to observe and assist Moy this year. But next year, look out!

I should have been there. We had planned to attend. I wasn't able to go because I have a sick child this weekend. I can't wait to see the pictures from the event.
Yes, fortunately a small group did make it!! I was pleased to attend with MoyDear77, Karateka, TrulyScrumptious, and her lovely mother who giggled when she informed me that she didn't have a 'cool' name! (Not a CC member.) Hey, cool nickname or not, she was a sweetie pie!!
We had a lot of fun joking around, sharing dinner (although it wasn't that great... and I had to go postal on the waiter to get 'Scrumptious's silverware!!!) and I am so glad we did it!
I just got home, and am ready to crash!! I will catch up with you all tomorrow when I feel human!!

It was great to meet those of you I did! I am sorry that I missed the others.
DH and I arrived Thursday morning and attended the fair Thursday evening, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We stayed as long as our legs and feet could hold out which, sorry to say, was an hour short of the awards portion. We got back home around 630 tonight...19 hours of driving...ugh.
I didn't enter anything...I went to see the incredible work of some of the most incredible artists in the country. It is truly remarkable to see the pieces standing there in all their glory...it's quite a high!
Even the children's cakes were inspiring!
It was like being at the oscar's of cake decorating...seeing, in person, some of those who've inspired me was awesome.
I went and met some wonderful people! Trulyscrumptious, Moydear,and Melvira. They were super nice and I really enjoyed hanging out with them at the show. I can't wait to see you guys next year, I am DEFINITELY entering in 08!
I did briefly meet two other cc members....I apologize that I don't remember your names, but I did enjoy meeting you, too! (Please don't hold my advanced state of short term memory loss against me!)
