I am soooo hooked on this site! It's like my crack or something. Seriously, I can't stop looking. How do you all ever get into the kitchen to make all these fabulous cakes and cookies? Help!
i know what you're saying. it is a drug and i'm hooked too. sometimes i just sit and click between the forums and the new pictures coming in and in between if there's nothing to read/see, i play solitare or some other game until something new loads.
this is getting to the point of madness!!!!!!
LOL - silly, there is the one hour baking time and than the one hour cooling time and the 10 minutes while the frosting crusts. Oh, and the desk is perfectly fine for rolling out rose petals and forming roses.

I hear ya. I was on the phone with my SL tonight and I told her I had to feed my 7mo. My DH yells out that means shes going to sit on the pc for the next 3-4 hrs. Well I might have missed something! What was I suppose to do? LOL I love it here at CC. So much to take in. You can't help but spend hrs.
As I sit here reading, I have one cake in the freezer, one cake in the oven, my raspberry filling cooling in front of the open window.....
This place is definitely my crack. I think I have to have a fix at least once an hour. It's maddening but wonderful! ![]()
This site is why you need a laptop. My husband thinks it is hysterical that I cannot bake a cake with my laptop in the kitchen. I keep telling him all my recipes are saved in my recipe box on cake central. I can't bake a cake without a recipe can I?
I've found that I'm not on quite as many hours as before...! It takes awhile to get caught up on all the articles, recipes, photos, etc...but now it doesn't take as long to just check the newest things. I've actually looked at every single cookie photo - took me about a month and had to write down what page I was on, but now it doesn't take but a few minutes to check the latest posts!
It's called two really expensive wedding cakes - one trip with the profits to the computer store - a new laptop - and a wireless internet connection!!!! I love it! ![]()
I think my DH start getting jealous with CakeCentral.

I hear you there. I get a lot of comments from mine about how often I use the site. I just tell him I have to do my research. How can he complain about a free continuting education!
I'm about to really have it made! I had my son-in-law (the computer genius!) order my new laptop from Dell and it's wireless! So I will be able to have it right on the counter next to me while I work! No more running up and down the stairs (which is a really bad thing for fat old ladies to do!)
In order for me to be able to stay on this site, I got my husband hooked on Dave's garden site. He signs on using my name, since I paid for the membership and he is just as hooked on that site, so he can not say anything to me about this site. We both have wireless Mac's laptops and go all over the house while doing other chores.
I'm an addict too! I'm checking up on posts every few hours sometimes. Have you all clicked on the warning icon on the upper left of the page?? Here's the link to it - you'll get a kick out of it....

I have a morning routine on the computer. The first thing is to log into CC, I sometimes only get 10 minutes but every day, without fail, I am on line (barring computer failure). Then, I see to the business sites I have to look at. A day without CC is a day without sunshine.
I've been at my sister's all weekend and today she asked if I was obsessed with this site...umm yeah. Non cc'ers just don't get it. I check it first thing in the morning while I have my coffee and then ALOT throughout the day.
I came accross an article on yahoo today about a guy who got fired from work for going into adult chat rooms. He says he was wrongfully fired and that he should have been treated with sympathy and treatment like alcoholics and drug addicts. He says that since he is a sex addict and the internet is a great place for that kind of stuff he is an internet addict. I've quoted part of the article because I know I am guilty of the below behaviour. At least those of you who do have jobs and internet access at work have an excuse for constantly checking cc =D
"Stanford University issued a nationwide study last year that found that up to 14 percent of computer users reported neglecting work, school, families, food and sleep to use the Internet.
The study's director, Dr. Elias Aboujaoude, said then that he was most concerned about the numbers of people who hid their nonessential Internet use or used the Internet to escape a negative mood, much in the same way that alcoholics might."
Edited to say that he's suing for 4 million so if you get fired for being on cc too much keep that in mind ![]()
yes, my husband is a cake central widower. there should be meetings, like aa. nah, unless those meetings are getting together and going on cc, or talking about cc!
You know how you go to the library and get those books on tape,....well I wish i could get all the forum topics on CC on tape or like the computer could read off all the topics to me. Maybe then I could actually get something done. I'm always here reading, I'm so afraid I'm gonna miss something LOL!
So glad to hear I'm not the only one! I may have to reference the guy who's an internet addict to get out of trouble at work if anyone ever stops by. Luckily, my computer is in a corner where noone can see it but me. Good thing. ![]()
I figured it out.. hehehehehehehe... we bought a new construction home this time last year and I complained for 6 months about this large empty wall in my kitchen that backed up to my living room couch... then I realized.... there was a cable setup on this side of the wall too... so I called the cable people over and they moved my internet out of the babies room to the kitchen, now my wall is completely purposeful.... I get a lot of baking and surfing CC done... all at the same time usually... call me lucky, or unlucky, your pick!
I've read somewhere that keeping the mind active and learning and problem solving is a good prevention for Alzheimers . Sooooooooooo, studying cc and decorating cakes is my perscription for Alzheimers prevention.
Don't know if my logic will hold up in a scientific study but for now it works for me and I don't feel guilty for being on this sight so much.
I agree with all of you. This place is so addictive. I have to check tons of times a day...even when I am playing with my 2 kids (10 months, and almost 3). I tell them...just grab the book that I have to check something REALLY important.
My DH thiks that we do not have anything else to do......maybe not ![]()
