I only seem to watch stuff that I record on Tivo.. it's a great service but sometimes you miss out on new stuff. I was wondering what baking shows are out there that you would recomend?
"Sugar" is great. The pastry chef is Anna Olson from "Inn on the Twenty" in Niagara.
The show is beautiful to watch and her flavours are so yummy.
(I'm biased...my sister worked on her cookbook photos! She's a food stylist.)
I tune into Sweet Dreams on food network
I watch allot on food network their always something neat to learn on that channel
Last week they had some amazing cakes on food find !!
Another vote here for Sugar Rush. There aren't really many shows dedicated strictly to baking that I know of.
Yes, the host is terribly boring. I wish Alton was hosting Sugar Rush...whew, dreamy thought.
Another vote for Sugar with Anna Olson (it's a Canadian show, on Food Network Canada; most US folk won't know of it)
And Alton Brown who I think is amazing on Good Eats (not so much that iron chef thing) because he explains a lot of the technical details behind the chemistry of cooking. When you know why something does what it does (his explaining why you use cream of tartar in meringue, for example) it's easier to work with it. Mixing science, art and entertainment, wow!
Anything on Food TV Network. DH works away from home lots so, I go through withdrawals when he comes home as he likes to watch other things I have learned tons from just watching.
