Personally, I use bamboo skewers. Others use popsicle sticks, wooden cofee stirrers, lollypop sticks, etc. Try a few and see what you like. I like the skewers because they are thin, cheap, and study.

I have thought about using these but what do you do about the point? Maybe I am overly paranoid, but I thought about putting it into the cookie to get the stick in easier... but then was worried about someone huritng themselves... then thought oh i'll just use that end to go into the container... but still same thought.

So do you keep the point or break it off?

I am sure I am paranoid.. but don't want anyone getting hurt

I love using bamboo skewers! They're food safe and very strong, although they're thin! However, my favorite thing to use are the long coffee stirrer sticks that Boston Stoker's uses. They are long, strong and flat...so when I put them in the bouquet foam, they don't spin around! But, I haven't been able to find a supplier for them yet....a manager at one of the stores sold a case of 5,000 to me...so I won't have to worry about that for a while!

I used Wilton lollypop sticks, did not loose a single cookie off stick.

Flat sticks - what a brilliant idea to prevent the sticks from turning, Cambo. How long are the Boston Stoker coffee stirrers?

I've used both the wilton cookie sticks and the wilton lollipop sticks depending on the size of the cookies. Haven't had one fall off yet thumbs_up.gif

I'm with cookiecreations. I use either the regular cookie sticks or the lollipop sticks. I usually get them at Michael's or Hobby Lobby. I like the lollipop sticks because they are cheaper and easier to put in the cookie. I put my sticks in before I bake.
