i don't have pics, but i made one once using royal icing to make black notes and frosted the cake yellow (seemed like a jazzy color to me)

How about a blue cake with a black musical staff in a wave-type pattern and notes?

I'm thinking a saxaphone, piano and Zatarans Rice commercial LOL! I'm thinking New Orleans style. I'm thinking black notes, with gold accents on the cake and somewhere in there some maroon's and or deep royalty purple colorings.

Just brainstorming. hope it can somehow help.

I like the idea of a New Orleans theme. Louisiana tour guides always show a Bourbon Street sign with a jazz musician leaning against it. You can look at www.NOLA.com for some New Orleans inspiration.

Thank you all for responding. I was thinking of doing music notes and saxaphone with chocolate melts, but he wants it iced in dark chocolate. I'll have to see how to coordinate the colors.
