can i bake both my cake layers at the same time? do i need to change the oven temp or the time they're baking?

If both pieces fit on the same shelf, they can be baked together. No adjustment in temperature is needed. Cakes sometimes take a minute or two more or less, depending on the oven, etc.

Set you timer for the shortest time then check them.
