Who in Ohio is baking what since we are getting so much snow right now? I have a creme de menthe cake in the oven right now and plan on making a couple of loaves of homemade bread when the cake is done.

Happy Baking to all those that are snowed in! icon_lol.gif

We're getting it in IL too. i've got 2 dozen valentine cookies (for my oldest's class party tomorrow) ready to decorate, and I'm planning to make a white cake & chocolate cake to make cake balls with. I'm going to make a cookie bouquet for my 3 dd's teachers. I'm also going to make a chocolate cake with chocolate icing for one of my bosses. He has mentioned several times that it is his favorite. I'm also going to be making some large cupcakes for a couple of the kids I work with on Thursday night. I think I might make some extra cookies for my kids to decorate... give them something to do.

I'm in the Chicago area and it's terrible here. As soon as I recover from shoveling snow I plan on gettting started. Can't do as much as I like because I ordered cake supplies and haven't received them yet because of all this snow icon_cry.gif .

You may not have to worry about the baking as school may be cancelled.

I didn't leave the house at all today because of all the snow, now we're getting about a half inch of ice on top of it icon_cry.gif I had to make 50 cookies for class parties tomorrow, and I'll probably have to redo them for next week when they finally go back to school icon_cry.gif

I made my first gumpaste/MMF shoe today! icon_smile.gif I decided to keep the kids home and stay safe. Now we are getting freezing rain and it is to continue all night! I will probably be home with the kiddos tomorrow too. It's a good thing though...I have 2 cakes and a ton of homework that I need to do. icon_smile.gif

Stay safe to everyone! It's nasty out there!!!

It's 7:30 p.m. and ice has been pounding my house since noon. Multiple counties have declared snow emergencies (sheriff says stay off the roads); hubby yelled in a few minutes ago and said the local news station just declared it an official "blizzard". Snow is blowing sideways into my front porch .... I don't DARE open the front door. We are not even TRYING to shovel anything. We have 12-plus inches of snow with sleet and ice and it's predicted to get more.

I stocked up yesterday at the store on soup fixin's, so instead of baking, I'll be making lots of batches of my homemade soups.

I'm in Ohio too, and they just declared us a BLIZZARD... icon_cry.gif Of course all you had to do is look outside and you would know that ! LOL! I'm just really worried because my Grandson is out driving a truck in this mess..... I"m not sure if he is being "macho", or just plain STUPID.... icon_rolleyes.gif the entire family has told him to get a motel and wait it out a couple of days....... sigh.......

Im in Dublin Ohio and not able to take advantage of all this wonderfull baking weather -- i have a sinus infection - so i dont dare touch any food - and even Ohio State University closed - its the first time in over a yr or so due to snow - the snow is a few inches deep and the ice/sleet is still making a mess since it started around noon (yuck) -- so to all of you who are snowed in stay warm and have a good time baking!

Im in Columbus Ohio and have been busy in the kitchen all day. (I couldn't go anywhere anyway, my husband took the 4x4 rather than the Mustang...good choice!) I was a little worried when the power blinked out 3 times, I wasn't baking but, I still needed the power for my pc & scale for labeling.

Today I finished decorating a valentine's day cake, 2 cookie bouquets & 3 dz cake balls. Hopefully the roads will be clear enough tomorrow for the customer to pick up the cake balls. The other items were ordered by my neighbor, so she just walked over and picked them up. icon_biggrin.gif

I hope this doesn't end up like the ice storm we had 2 years ago, we lost power for 6 days on that one. Stay warm.

NY here..just starting to see some flurries. They are predicting 18" here.

I'm hoping for a male snowstorm. The kind where they say you are going to get 8"and you end up with 3. icon_twisted.gif

Well you can have all that white stuff you want! Corpus is way on the other side of the Texas Gulf from where we are on Galveston Bay. The cold front came on down here this afternoon and dropped us to around 50 pretty quick then tonight it goes into the 30's and not much of a warm up until the weekend. I know this is not really cold for you folks up north but it is cold for us that are native to this area. I wouldn't survive one of your winters! I watch you all on the weather channel and it makes me shiver just seeing the pictures of what you are all going through!!! Stay warm and pray no one of you loses your power!!!!! icon_smile.gif

Have fun baking guys!!! Stay safe, dry and warm!!! We NEVER get snow here in San Antonio, Tx! icon_cry.gif The cold front just blew through here earlier today. I think it will get into the 20s for a low in the next couple of days.

Last week they were predicting a big snowstorm for us today here in Delaware, then they changed their minds over the weekend and every station had a different forcast. We got some snow today, only about 1 inch though. Now we're getting just sleet and freezing rain-makes it dangerous to drive and isn't pretty like snow. I'm so disappointed! I like one big snowstorm every year and it looks like we might not get one this year....The weather people shouldn't have teased us like that last week!!!

I'm in PA and it is COLD! I'm not going anywhere. We're suppose to get it bad in a few days and I have to travel to Syracuse, NY where it is even worse! Luckily I have a few days to work on my life-sized guitar cake. and I get to use my airbrush for the first time!

Me TOO MavericksMommy! I just need one good snow. Just enough to keep me in for a couple of days! Enough for me to look outside and watch it in total silence!! I LOVE it!

I guess both of us will be disappointed this year, though. Oh Well, there is always next year!

It's crazy here in Columbus, OH!! Lots of snow and ice!! The weatherpeople have been saying that tomorrow it may be just like it was a couple Christmases ago here when we had a horrible ice storm and lots of power outages!!! icon_cry.gif We had no power at our house that Christmas for over a week!!! It was awful!!! I sure hope that doesn't happen again!!! icon_cry.gificon_cry.gif
