Good Morning Cake Central?

Can anyone tell me where I can purchase Satin Ice and how the taste compares to MMF?

I always use MMF and I love it but I'd like to try something different for my God daughters first birthday.

Thanks for your feedback and have a Great Day

I just recently purchased a 2lb tub of white Satin Ice, and I'm HOOKED! I've used Wilton, MMF, and now this. Satin Ice is by far the best - smells wonderful, tastes (IMHO) better than either Wilton or MMF.

I bought it at my local cake supply store, but I've found it at several places on line.

www.cakecentral.com unfortunately, it's currently sold out. icon_cry.gif

Here are a couple of other places you can get it online if you need it sooner than later.

www.intotheoven.com

I find Satin Ice very easy to work with.

Depending upon how much you need, or how much you want to spend, you can buy it directly from Satin Fine Foods. Their terms are as follows:

You must buy the entire case (I buy it in 2-20 lb buckets, if I do not need it all, I split it with a friend). The case is $100, plus shipping. Your first order is COD, so there is a slight extra charge. They do not take credit cards.

They use FedEx. They are in upstate NY, I am in southeastern PA. I had my order the very next day.

I paid $117.63, with shipping and COD fees. The next time I order it will just be the case plus shipping, roughly $109. It is still less expensive than ordering it through any of the vendors near me.

They do not do online ordering. You can get their telephone number from their website (www.rolledfondant.com) and call them for a shipping quote to your zip code.

I recently tried Satin Ice for the first time and don't care for it's taste, however, LOVE it's consistency and ease to work with. Don't get me wrong, it's a HECK of a lot better than Wilton fondant (hate that stuff), but still has a "synthetic" taste that I've experienced with every brand I've tried. Those of you that use Satin Ice....do you flavor it with anything before using it?

Thanks for all the input.

I'm not sure what I would do without this place.

It's a life saver. icon_biggrin.gif
