Well this past weekend I tried the recipe on this site for ice cream cake (dairy queen style), however I did add a few different things.
Here it goes, first I put 2 lts of french vanilla ice cream in my KA with a couple of heaping spoonfuls of crunchy peanut butter & whipped that up until soft (almost like a stiff buttercream) & need I say more I really didn't need anything thing else as that was sooo good on it's own thumbs_up.gif
Anyway I proceeded to fill my springform pan half way them covered it with crushed up peanut butter/chocolate Oreos & then put a layer of chocolate sauce, I covered it with foil & put it in the freezer for about 8 hours. Then I put in my KA 1lt of rich chocolate ice cream & I cut up about 8 mini chocolate peanut butter cups & added it to the chocolate ice cream & mixed it until softened. I then added that on top of the layers I already had done previously & let it freeze over night. To frost this cake I mixed 1lt of french vanilla ice cream with about 1/2 tub of cool whip in my KA & frosted the cake quickly, first frosting the whole thing smooth putting it back in the freezer for abouit 1/2 hr Then I finished decorating it with a few more whole peanut butter cups & a few sprinkles & back to the freezer till it was ready to serve. It held well in the car as we had to take it to my in laws for my BIL b-day & the drive was about 1/2 hr & it didn't melt....
Well I must say they like all the sweet stuff i've made in the past but now, I'm the only one they want sweet stuff from... The only thing I'm sorry I didn't do was take a picture icon_cry.gif But it sure was delicious, for anyone that was contemplating on trying the recipe, please go ahead it says moderate but it's easy as pie, you just need to wait as you need to do it in layers so it will hold shape. I hope you enjoy it thumbs_up.gif

Well I started mine of Saturday morning & served it Sunday night, as long as you give each layer at least 6 hours in between you sould be fine... Should it not be ready on time you could serve it later in the week or serve it on Friday or the weekend... & for V-day you could just mix (in KA or just with an electric beater) the French vanilla ice cream or good quality vanilla ice cream with a few scoops of crunchy peanut butter & serve that, as it's just like a decadent mousse & it takes only 2 mins to prepare & believe me you will be licking the bowl thumbs_up.gif
that is what I will be serving on v-day for desert thumbs_up.gif Can't wait!

Well I had a bit of frosting (vanilla ice cream mixed with cool whip) left over in my freezer, so I took it out & put it in my KA added a few scoops of chocolate ice cream, a generous scoop of peanut butter & a tablespoon or so of nutella & whipped it all up for a few seconds until softened. Served it in 2 bowls & came to be bed with it to watch ER with my Dh, I can't remember what happened on ER but the ice cream was divine!!!!
My dh said I was never allowed to leave him never, ever icon_rolleyes.gif

VERY tasty! Definitely was a big hit. Jovigirl, thanks so much for your take on the ice cream cake recipe! The brownie gave it an extra texture, and the family seemed to like it!
