Amy there is a great recipe for Sugar cookies in the recipe section, it holds its shape really good, good luck![]()
Here's what I use.......................
Cream 1 cup of butter and 1 cup of sugar together in mixer.
Add 2 eggs and 1 tsp vanilla.
In a seperate bowl add 2 ½ cups of flour with 1 tsp baking soda.
Add this mixture to first mixture blend well. Refrigerate for 1 hour.
Bake at 325 for 8-10 min.
I only use butter and real vanilla. I ALWAYS double this in my KA mixer.
I also only use air bake pans if that helps. Keeps a nice bottom on the cookie.
I use the No Fail Sugar Cookie Recipe from this site. It does not spread and tastes yummy!
I have been baking sugar cookies for years and years and I finally found the best recipe ever! I used to use the NFSC of this site but I was never really thrilled with the taste. Another CC'er gave me the recipe, her username is Mac. PM her and I am sure she will be more than happy to share it with you!
Traditional Sugar Cookies!
1 stick margarine
1/2 stick butter
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
This recipe is a lot like the No Fail, but I find everyone likes it a little better.
I tried the NFSC recipe for the first time last night. Pretty good turn out, but I have a question for you all.
I baked all of them to a light golden brown on the edges, the last batch I over cooked and they were golden brown all over and tasted soooo much better than the properly cooked ones.
Any opinions on what color they should be? I know that sounds kindof crazy because it school they always said bake until they are done ![]()
Just a tip I have found using real almond flavoring vs imitation makes better tasting cookies.
I use the no fail sugar cookie recipe from here and like it.
