I'm going to go to the Mid-Atlantic cake show in March but I can only go one day. I was wondering if anyone has ever been and would it be better for me to go on the first day (Saturday) or the second day (Sunday) when they give out the rewards? Just wanted to get the most out of the show with only being able to get there for one of the days!

thanks

I think that if you are not entering a cake, better to go on the day of the awards.

yea- I see that there are different demos on different days and I'm not torn either direction as to what I would have to see. I guess I was wondering if it was worth it to just wait for the awards day or is it a crazy mess and should go the first day to be able to see all of the cakes w/o the awards stuff going on!

Last year was the first year for the show and the turn out was so good even on the rainy day that it was that they had to move it to another location to accomodate the number of people. When you go will really depend on what you are going for. They will have vendors set up and demos going on too so if you're going to look and or/buy you might want to go the first day for the best selection unless you want to see the awards or a particular demo.

thanks guys- since I'm not really going with anything particular in mind I guess it doesn't really matter which day I go - I really just want to see what it's all about and check out the beautiful cakes. I just want to get an idea of the different catagories/levels. I've never been so I don't know what to expect and that's why I couldn't decide which day. Maybe I'll shoot for Saturday and if it's all that I think it will be I'll try to make Sunday too!! I just can't decide!!! LOL It's only about an hour from my house so it's not too bad of a drive if I decide to go both days. I guess my housework can be neglected for one whole weekend, well for the purpose of cakes anyway! LOL
