Familiar with the saying, "When God closes one door, He opens another"?
Well, I was so discouraged the other day to find out that the small bistro that I do the sweets for was not going to be in the Wedding Expo this year (booth costs $600), all I could think about was the great advertising opportunity we were missing out on.
That evening I was taking some things to the market (which is across the drive from the bistro) and there were 2 ladies in there talking about my petit fours (Thank you Kathy Scott). One lady has a local magazine that showcases local businesses and local advertising. We had a great long talk and Friday she is coming to do some pictures for an ad for the bistro (in exchange for a grab-n-go dinner) but now she wants to do a separate ad for ME in exchange for a graduation cake for her foster son. She also wants to put pics of my cakes in the magazine 
The other lady works for the museum and she wants to schedule a time to look at my book and make her a portfolio to offer to brides that want to book the museum for receptions. She has seen some of the cookies that I have made for wedding favors.
My goodness...my head is spinning.
