I will be making a 3 tiered wedding cake similar to Wilton's "Bounteous Love" in April. Due to the tier sizes (8", 11", 14") I will not be able to use the tall tier cake stand (center construction). I was planning on using plates and pillars to achieve the look.

My question is - how would I then place the flowers (actually, the florist will be placing the flowers) If the flowers are in a flower holder ring - the pillars will be in the way. If I don't use a bottom plate - is it ok for the flower holder ring to sit directly on the buttercream?

Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Debbie

Whenever I've done a tiered cake like that, I use a piece of floral foam in the middle and stick the flowers in that. I think I may have one of the cakes in my pictures.
I've never even thought of using a flower holder ring...

Your "3 tiers and flowers" is beautiful! I'll have to talk to the florist to see how she planned on arranging the flowers I guess.

Thanks!

Thanks and good luck!

The funny thing about that cake was that the florist didn't bring enough flowers for the cake by a long shot, so the bride's mother and I were pilfering little pieces from some of the arrangements!
