I know that lots of you guys add the flavored powdered (or liquid) coffee creamer to your cakes and frostings and cakeballs. I wonder how it would taste if it was added to the NFSC dough or the royal icing? Has anyone tried it?

I haven't tried the NFSC recipe, but did try Penny's Cookie recipe from Penny's Pastries of Austin. It is essentially the same (1/2 recipe) but she puts in 2 TBL. of Whipping Cream. Next time I am going to substitute coffee creamer for the cream. They turned out great.

I haven't tried it, but I don't see why not, just add in the creamer for the milk... You should be ok..
I will be making some NFSC this weekend, I will try this as well ;o)

Am I crazy? Do I have the wrong recipe?
I didn't think the recipe for NFSC had milk in it....

bonniebakes, you're not crazy. NFSC recipe does not have milk in it, but I think you could add it if you want and it wouldn't change the end result. Like I said I used Penny's cookie recipe which is almost identical to NFSC, except it has added whipping cream. Turned out great for me. I tried Penny's cuz I was reading several posts where they were having trouble with the NFSC recipe not holding together. I want things as easy as possible. I tried the MMF-and for some reason was a disaster!

or you could add the powdered creamer in place of some of the dry ingredients. I was only thinking of adding it for a subtle flavor.
