Black Fondant?

Is there a quick and easy way of making black fondant? (Short of using a couple pots of black colouring) Thanks for your help!

Here are recipes to chocolate fondants. Maybe you could try this and adding black dye only not as much.. Good luck!

I have seen in books where they paint the fondant (like sponging) to get vivid colors. Colette and Toba uses this technique in their books.

I didn't actually have to use that much black coloring to get my black fondant, maybe about 1/6 of my container and after it sat out for about 1 hour it was totally dark and perfect.

Yeah, sgirvan...I was going to say the same thing. I really don't have a problem getting fondant black, it's just making icing black that is a little tough!

I purchased black fondant (Satin Ice) when I made my wedding cakes. I've also sponged it but couldn't use that method on the wedding cakes because it was just a ribbon around the base of a white cake. No room for error!
