Theresa

As I'm new to cake dec, these angels started out as piping practice...I read you could pipe on tulle for butterfly wings etc. Well I had some tulle, so I drew up the pattern and just kept piping wings. I was going to throw them away,,,,then the imagination kicked in and the angels just sort of happened!!! lol

Thanks, Torki!

I knew you told us the story before, but I just could not remember what it was, and my computer and CC do not get along that well, so I can never get past page 1 of the archives when I do a search.

Torki...

Here is my try at your angels. Not nearly as cute as yours, but I nice try I think.

http://www.cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=coppermine&file=displayimage&pos=-105301

Could you tell me please, do you cut out the tulle beforehand and the pipe. Or do you pipe, then cut out the tulle? I had a hard time getting the edges close on mine. You can't see it in the picture because I edited it, but I would like to know for the future.

Also, what is the size of the cutter that you use for the dress? i know I used one with too large of a scallop, so next time I will use one with a smaller scallop. it made it too difficult to get them to stand up when I used the big one.

Thanks again for the tutorial ..it was great!

Hi Julia

your angels are great ... I love the one with the funky hair....it looks a bit like my hair!!! icon_biggrin.gif

I'm really excited you used my tutorial.
As I'm pretty inexperienced in cake decorating, I have been using CC and a really, really old decorating book to learn from.....so it is really nice to know I can help someone else on CC... it has given me a real buzz .... icon_lol.gif

I have attached a pic of the frill cutter I used with the measurements... sorry its a bit rough and blurry I did it in a rush....

As for the wings I piped with a stiff royal icing and cut around the edges as closely as possible. using small curved manicure scissors..

Hope this all makes sense and helps you
