Has anyone ever iced a cheesecake before with Italian Meringue Buttercream icing? I have someone that wants a cheesecake decorated to look like camoflage (sp) colors. It's for a groom's cake.

I have never personally done it. But in my copy of The Cake Bible, she has a decorated wedding cheesecake. So it can be done. Good luck.

I've decorated my cheesecakes, but not with buttercream..it was either fresh fruit OR whipped cream...that should be ok. icon_smile.gif

I've used the chocolate buttercream before to decorate a cheesecake and it worked out beautifully. I put shell borders around the top and bottom and decorated the top surface.

Should be fine. I just did one in fondant, and it worked great.

I have iced several with IMBC. It works great. Creamcheese IMBC flavor blends well with cheesecake.
Delicious!
