That looks great!!!
Dodi......you feel like passing those directions in MY direction???(hint..hint..) ![]()
the cake is iced in buttercream... i used a hot spackle knife to smoothe it. the color is aobut 2 toothpicks delphinium blue, 2 toothpicks sky blue, a good toothpick of royal blue and one small toothpick of leaf green.
nope, vanilla candy melts!
Ah!!...but I'm thinking RI will work as well...for those summer time cakes...the heat!!!
Wow, what an unbelieveable cake! Your icing is soooo smooth. Love it!
Aawwww, alaskanmom
That's so sweet! I was happy to help! And like I said in my e-mail-I love your cake! Beautiful and elegant!!!
I never thought about candy melts! I used royal and IHATEFONDANT is right about the heat right now! Candy melts for my winter cakes!!
A couple of tips I shared with alaskanmom-don't cry if the coral breaks coming off the wax paper-gives it some character, I dusted with super pearl luster dust before removing from the wax paper, I piped a couple of layers over the bottom section just for more stability.
Any other questions, just ask away! ![]()
I only had trouble with one coral breaking... i didn't lift them from above... what i did was put my hand under the parchment and gently pull and loosen it and it popped off. in fact the only time i broke one was holding it trying to put it on the cake! LOL. but like dodibug's hubby said... nature isn't perfect so neither should the coral be ![]()
