This just came out online today, but I thought it might be handy for everyone here. Three basic designs & a bit of tool/instruction info.
(Don't laugh at me, okay?? It was SO nerve-wracking! ![]()

You were great!!!!!
I love the motioning with the spatula LOL.... I am so dirty minded, ignore me...
Finally, we got to see the master in action! That was great! If you do any more please, please let us know.
By the way, you guys are naughty. I don't think that I would have noticed the "spatula action" if I hadn't read your posts first.
I liked the flower cupcake. I know how to make RI flowers, but never thought of using a big flower to top a cupcake. Now that it's over, was it fun? ![]()
No, it was scary...not fun. I kept screwing up the word "tips" and saying something dirty! ![]()
Thank God for good editing!
The magazine is doing a beautiful spread as well, which we shot a few days before the video. I'm REALLY excited about that. It will come out in the June issue...so I guess in May? (Not sure if Chatelaine is available anywhere other than Canada though?
)
Here's a photo of the ones we did in the magazine. I brought them home to snap a few of my own photos on my new little cupcake stand:
Oh my goodness! You're like the Canadian Martha Stewart! (I don't dislike her, so that's a good thing)
I think that this instructional video was GRRRRRREAT!!!! I'm still in the beginning stages and this will help me a lot and maybe even build up my confidence because I had really given up. Icing a cake is pure frustration for me because I just can't seem to get the technique down. I think I'll just stick to cupcakes!!!!! ![]()
