Bear Baby Shower!
6' cake covered with fondant and fondant bear. Cupcakes with fondant toppers. I used the wonderful Lorraine McKay's tutorial. The cupcakes were "blue" velvet. Used my red velvet recipe and tinted the batter blue instead of red. The cake was french vanilla, and I also tinted half of the batter blue. Cupcake stand had crystal "diamonds" down the center with battery-operated blue lights which really looked nice as the sun went down as the event was outdoors.

Nifty Fifty!
This is the 2nd of two cakes I entered in the Celebration of Cakes Competition in Phoenix, AZ in June 2011. The first one is the bears quilting in my photos. Thanks to all the various creations here on CC that gave me inspiration! And an extra-special thanks to Lorraine McKay -- I took one of her classes on how to make people -- if she's ever in the U.S., I HIGHLY recommend taking her classes!

Beary Love!
I made this cake for the Celebration of Cakes competition in Phoenix, Arizona in June 2011. With this cake I won 1st for non-tiered, intermediate division; and I won 3rd overall in the intermediate division. I saw a similar design somewhere (probably here on CC), and modified it. The two bears have made a quilt in white, pink, blue and purple. 8" round with fondant, including the pattern on the board.

Carnival Theme Topsy Turvy Wedding Cake
Young couple at church had a very non-traditional, very cute, carnival-themed wedding. Wedding colors were lemon yellow and hot pink. Bride wanted a whimsical cake, but that still looked liked a wedding cake. The cake was just for them to cut, and there were 240 cupcakes for the guests. Cake was a 10" french vanilla and 6" lemon with fondant accents.
