Faffi "designer" Shoes
This cake was for a young lady named Stephanie, who was turning 15, as a gift from her father. When she was little her nickname was "Faffi" and she loves shoes. The logo was an edible image designed with her nickname. The barcode/label is also an edible image. The shoe was gumpaste and painted with pink luster dust & vanilla. The cake was vanilla pound cake with vanilla chocolate chip buttercream filling.

Air Jordan Birthday Cake
I made this Air Jordan and Jordan shoebox for my husband's 30th birthday. The shoe was wasc carrot cake and the box was red velvet. I'm not crazy with the way the shape of the shoe turned out but everyone raved about it and I am my own worst critic. The logos and box label are edible images. TFL!

Cinderella Birthday
I made this cake for my sister's birthday. I made the Cinderella from my Cricut! The first gumpaste image I've made with my Cricut. The tiny details (eyes & lips) ended up being paper because I couldn't get it to work with gumpaste. So I've gotta figure that out. The cake was strawberry filled with strawberry swiss meringue. I sprayed the entire cake with edible pearl dust spray. Sadly, the dent on Cinderella & crooked "E" came from me dropping the camera on it when I was taking pictures! TFL!

Anna Grace - Soccer Girl
This cake was made for a girl turning 11 and loves soccer. This was my first figure with Lorraine McKay's tutorials. I love love love her tutorials! They were awesome! I am so happy with the way it turned out. The figure is part modeling chocolate & part fondant. The soccer balls on the side are fondant and hand painted with gel coloring. TFL!

Soccer Birthday
This cake was made for an 11 year old girl who loves soccer. The logo is from her favorite soccer club - the Real Madrid soccer club. The soccer balls are made of fondant & hand painted. I felt like this cake was not up to par with my other cakes. It needed something more to it. But it was what the customer wanted & they were very happy with it. TFL.

Christmas Birthday
This cake was my first paid cake. I made it for several people's December birthdays. The cake was vanilla WASC with chocolate trouffle filling. The bow was made of gumpaste and everything else is fondant. I dusted the bow with green & red luster dust. The fondant covering the board was sprayed with pearl luster dust. TFL!

Photo Album
This cake was made for my mother-in-law's birthday. We wanted something with edible images for her so this is what I came up with. It was a chocolate pound cake with irish cream buttercream filling. I carved the cake to the shape of a book and put the page indentations with a ruler & cardstock. TFL!

John Deere Tractor
This cake was made for my husband's best friend's birthday. He works for John Deere so he was blown away. This was my first 3D vehicle cake and first time working with RKT. I was fairly pleased with it. There were some things I would have done differently. The cake is a vanilla pound cake with vanilla buttercream filling. The wheels are RKT, the logos are all edible images, and the "dirt" is crushed graham cracker & chocolate cookie. TFL!

Coach Purse - Birthday Cake
I turned 30 last week & I decided to put together my two favorite things - purses & cake! This was my second purse cake. I'm happy with the way this one turned out. I had problems with the handle, but I know I should've used gumpaste instead of fondant/gumpaste mix. I painted the C's with a stencil then sprayed the cake with pearl luster spray. The shoe is a gumpaste shoe. There was some sagging in the heal for some reason - I guess it needed more support and the mold wasn't quite tall enough for the heal so there was a little cracking. The perfume bottle is styrofoam. I hope you like it! TFL!

State Fair Wedding Cake
This is the cake I entered for the NC State Fair in the non-professional wedding cake competition. This was my first competition. I had not planned on the pink being so pink but I think it all came together. The piping and stenciling was done in royal icing and were painted over in pearl, gold, and pink luster dust. The entire cake was painted in a shear pearl paint. the swags and beading were done in fondant/gumpaste mix and painted in pearl luster dust. The roses were also made of fondant/gumpaste mix and painted. I would have done more roses at the top but there was a 20" height limit and I was cutting it close! After all the time I put in it, I'm very happy with it. TFL! 10/16: I came in 3rd place in my division! Thanks for all your supportive comments!!

Knitting Basket
This was a cake I made for my mom. It's all edible except the lid and knitting needles. Other than the leaning I was pretty pleased with it. I was in a time crunch, otherwise I would have done a lot more. I wanted to paint the basket a darker color & paint the board. I need to figure out how to keep my fondant from cracking (there was some cracking on the basket weave) and I would also like to learn how to get all the lines and everything to look cleaner. Any tips would be greatly appreciated! TFL!!

Film Strip Birthday Cake
This cake was made for my mom's 60th birthday with edible images from her life. I got the idea from rocky5777. I thought I would put my spin on it by tilting it. The cake is a 10" irish cream pound cake, the silver "metal" part is 12" fondant. It started to come apart at the bottom some. I really liked this cake, I would have done the white holes on the top & bottom of the film strip differently if I had to do it again. It didn't turn out as smooth & clean as I would have liked & the dowel down the center was not short enough so it made the top "metal" part crack. But overall, I was happy with how it turned out & my mom was speechless! TFL!!

Brandi's Birthday Presents
This was my sixth fondant cake and the most detailed, biggest, & time consuming. This was my first cake for an event so I was a bit stressed about doing my best. I learned a lot doing it & I especially learned I need to manage my time better. There were a few late nights with this one. But I was really proud of the outcome! Although I'm not crazy about my "30". I didn't do them ahead of time with gumpaste like I should have, instead I did them with fondant and gumtex and it didnt dry in time so I had to prop them up with some fondant. The top tier was a 6" square chocolate WASC and the bottom was a vanilla WASC. I also used ganache for the first time instead of buttercream & the edges were so much smoother & sharper! TFL!

Beach Birthday
This was a birthday cake done for my Aunt. She loves the beach. I wanted a tiered cake but didnt want to make more than one recipe of cake mix so the bottom is an 8" and the top is a 4". There were issues with the top leaning. This was a strawberry cake with a strawberry buttercream filling. The seashells are white chocolate painted in luster dust and the sand is graham crackers. This was my fifth fondant cake.

Sex & The City Manolo Blahniks
This idea was taken from the blue Manolo's from Sex and the City Movie. The shoe box is chocolate chip cookie cake with buttercream fudge filling. The shoes are gumpaste painted with luster dust. This was my first shoe which I think they turned out pretty good. This was my fourth fondant cake & I made it for my last course in Wilton's courses - gumpaste & fondant.

Teal & Purple Flowers
This was my final cake for Wilton's course 3. This was my first tiered cake & my second with fondant. The first tier is red velvet cake with a white chocolate buttercream and the bottom is carrot cake with a vanilla buttercream. Everything is fondant except the silver dragees. I'm pretty proud of it to be my 2nd fondant cake and I learned a lot from it!
