Does ..... "A Fond Farewell, We'll miss you!" sound like "we're glad you're leaving" at all to you????

I might not be able to fit the "We'll miss you" part on what I'm writing on and I don't want it to sound like we're glad they're leaving!!!!!! Opinions please!!!

I think "a fond farewell" does sound a little like they're happy......can you just go with "we'll miss you" and leave the other part off?

To me it doesn't sound like that but then again, I'm known for writing things that are misinterpretted all the time! So maybe go with just "we'll miss you"

I don't think it sounds like that at all! To me, it's more like you're wishing them well on their future. I say go with it! icon_smile.gif

I'd stick with just the "We'll miss you". That says it all - plain and simple.

The majority so far "does" take it as "we're glad you're leaving"....that's what I was afraid of.

I would leave it off and just say "we'll miss you" if it were a more "simple" cake but the fact is, this is a very elegant, almost dramatic cake and to me, "we'll miss you" is too plain really. KWIM???

Any other idea's for a message that would fit this cake???

I have no idea, but if you post a bit more information about who it is that's leaving and why, where they're going, etc, maybe someone will come up with something totally different that would be appropriate and fit in the space . . .

what about something like 'Good luck on your next endeavor" or Blessings for your next journey'...
Another journey begins
Who are they and why are they leaving? Is it a work thing or family?

I'm sorry I didn't add more info!!! It's a young couple from my church. His mother died several months ago and they've been traveling between FL and GA trying to take care of her estate. They spent more time in FL than GA so he ended up getting a job there. Now they are moving there for good. (We WILL miss them!!)

I'm liking "Another Journey Begins" but I'm still open for any more suggestions now that you have a bit more info. Thank you everyone for all your help!!!! I LOVE THIS SITE!!!!

I vote for "Another journey begins". It sounds so optimistic with lots of hope for the future.

Well it sounds like with all the traveling in between, he got himself a job, so maybe something positive has risen from the death...??? Ya know what I mean?
'a window has closed, a door has opened, another journey begins'
Maybe the card(s) can include the 'we will miss you'...????

God and our prayers are with you

God and our fondest wishes are with you

God's blessings and our Best Wishes

God be With You 'Till We Meet Again

Together with you in God's new journey

Apart in life, united in God's Heart (or Love)

Although apart, still united in God's Heart (or Love)

God's love unites us no matter the distance

Well the definition of fond is something that is cherished and dear to one's heart. So I really don't look at a "fond farewell" as a "we are glad you are leaving" There is nothing negative about it.

Now on the other hand if you had written "Good riddance" then that would be more a glad you are leaving.
