12 X 18 Cake

How many boxes or cups of cake mix for this size cake? I am using a white cake mix in a 12x18 sheet cake pan 2 inches high!! I will be adding the pudding and xtra egg to the mix icon_smile.gif

i never made a cake THIS big!! Also is there a chart on this anywhere?? Like how many boxes for each size pan? if not there should be LOL

It take approx. 14 cups of batter or 3 cake mixes depending on brand. I got this info off the Wilton website. I have the 12 by 18 pan and mine came with directions telling how many cups for cake and icing etc. You should also make sure the pan is 1/2 to 2/3 full. Hope this helps. icon_smile.gif

According to Wilton, the 12x18 pan uses 14 cups of batter. So that would be 2 1/2 - 3 mixes.

If you go to www. wilton.com click on cakes, then cake preparation, then at the bottom you can select cutting and baking guides. There is a good chart there for various pans, how much batter and how long to bake it.
