He got me two bathroom sinks and mirrors to clean.

Seriously, he hasn't even wished me Happy Valentine's day.

And to those struggling today - we love you here and I know that I will be here if anyone needs to talk.

On Monday DH bought me a dozen Red Roses. He was affraid we would be snowed in today. This morning he gave me a coffee mug with pink and purple X & O's on it and tonight he is taking me to Red Lobster and I know I saw a Kay Jewlers bag hidden where he thought I wouldn't find it (no I didn't look inside). We gave each of our kids and granddaughter big Hershey Kisses. I'm giving him cute Valentine boxers, mens Bath and Body wash and the new Dixie Chicks CD.

My DH is so unromantic! but that works well for me, I told him to just give me money...then I told him that what I really wanted/needed was a small microwave and microwave cart for my downstairs commercial kitchen...so thats what I am getting. and my birthday is in a couple of weeks, so I asked for a small shelf for above my oven downstairs to hold mixing bowls and stuff. Next year I will demand romance. haha

Late last night, I asked my DH not to bring me home any candy or roses or anything. We don't really need anything right now (and I'd rather spend the money on cake stuff!). I got up this morning to a box of Cella cherries (my favs) and a card. The card read "Sorry, I bought these yesterday on my way to work". He said I don't have to eat them all at once. I pointed out that he was sadly mistaken, and yes, I do need to eat them all!
My DH and my boys gave me a great gift this morning as well. They all got up and out of bed on time, got ready for school/work, without any hassles. I actually had time to put on some makeup today!

My husband is very romantic and treats me really well.

Having said that (so you don't get the wrong idea), we have mutually chosen not to celebrate Valentine's Day as we feel the time to show each other love is whenever we are thinking of it, not when a retail market tells us we have to.

Last Saturday my DH and I were shopping and I bought a new wallet as mine was ripping apart. When we got out to the car, he popped the trunk as I got in the passengers seat. He got in the car and handed me a big pink gift bag with the Stone Mountain purse in it that I had been coveting for a few months!!! I can't believe he actually got it 2 weeks before VD!! Just when you think you want to throw them away......

Happy Valentines to everyone. I have been married for almost 6 years now, and we usually don't do anything for Valentines Day. But we have 2 children and I said I would like a mother's ring someday. Well he got me one and gave to me last night, I didn't expect it at all. My daughter was born in August - Light green and my son in April a diamond. It a beautiful ring! He made me cry!

Happy V day to everyone.

For those going thru rough times, big hugs to all!

My DBF is the "they die anyway" kind of guy so flowers were the last think on my mind. I just received 2 doz long stemmed red roses. I also got a slim digital camera two weeks ago.

May I live vicariously through those who got some gift? My DH has never been one for presents any time of the year. So I enjoy others happy times and pray that my two sons treat thier special some one better. And they do. So I have raised two that are romantic not like thier dear dad.
Also don't feel sorry for me. It is my choice to stay. madhatter.gif I love him in spite of his self.

It's so nice reading the different ideas and things you all are receiving. I've been married 21 years and I've always love getting flowers. I always told my husband not to use the 'they'll die anyway' excuse. Everything dies, including me, so make the most of the time you have and make someone happy.

However, to redeem myself, I can certainly understand the 'they are way overpriced because of the holiday' excuse, that''s why I planted 26 hybrid rose bushes in my yard icon_wink.gif

My DH hasn't had a chance to get me anything yet as my father passed away last Friday and we've been out of town since then. Maybe he'll get something on his way home from work tonight. He's a real romantic and never forgets but under the circumstances I'll totally understand if he doesn't remember this year.

Dh and I are just getting over the flu. He's been over a little longer than me but then he sprained an ankle. So we aren't celebrating today but will the first weekend of March. I know we're going out to dinner but don't know if he has anything else planned. His romance died when we got married...lol. He says now to him it's just another day. But he's getting better at remembering.

My DH gave me two willow tree figurines that reminded him of our two girls. The only thing is he had the girls open them so they thought they were theirs. Oh well. He tries. I'm giving him a pot with candy flowers in it and I cleaned out our jetted tub so he can have a nice warm relaxing bath. Cleaning a tub may not sound like much, but I've been experiencing morning sickness lately and he's lucky to get any of the house cleaned.

For those that are having a tough time. I'm sorry. What's with serving the divorce papers the day before Valentine's day!?! I had a friend who's husband at the time told her on Christmas day (several years ago) that after 25 years of marriage he didn't love her anymore and wanted a divorce. It turned to be better for her though. She's a much stronger person for it. Please rely on your friends, because I'm sure you will need all the support you can give. Here's a virtual shoulder to cry on...

We decided not to get each other a gift this year, since we just bought a new HUGE camper 3 weeks ago, and are planning our spring break and summer trips. LOOK OUT NASHVILLE, HERE WE COME!!!!!!
We did get each other a card, and I made him heart shaped pancakes for breakfast.

DH & I usually don't get each other anything for valentine's day other than a card but we were watching this Saturday Night Live skit about valentines day a while ago - it was making fun saying that "Nothing says I love you more than a teddy bear holding a heart". It was pretty hilarious....so yep you guessed it Teddy bear with a heart greeted me this morning - with a nice card too! Love him!!!!

I made him a cake to go with his card icon_smile.gif

I went downstairs to a beautifully set table (china and all) and a rose and card. He grilled us t-bones and made eggs for breakfast with mimosa's. So unlike him and quite sweet

A few weeks ago we went to Build-A-Bear and I was able to pick out a bear for my gift (last year for my birthday he ordered one online for me that he "built" and since then I have been wanting to go to a store and see what it is all about)

Her name is Rose with a small boquet of roses for valentine's day.

We are planning on going out to a comedy club and dinner on Friday for our V-Day.

When we started going out I requested that he not buy me flowers the week of Valentine's day becuase I couldnt' believe the outrageous prices, yes I know higher demand, but i'd rather spend the money on a nice evening out. However I am usually surprised through out the year with a rose or my favorite Gerbera Daisies.

My DH, what a dear! Yesterday, I don't know what happened but I woke up with the stomach flu. After 6 hours of keeping vigil over me, helping to keep a cold compress on my head and trying to keep me hydrated, I don't know when, but he snuck out to get me a beautiful card (that brought me to tears) and a heart shaped box of Turtles chocolates, (which I should be able to eat in a few days.)
I'm still weak today, and I didn't get to go get him anything, so I gave him the strongest hug I could muster up!
Happy Valentines Day to all of you!

To those of you having a rough time today because your marriages are over, please, have hope!
My 25 year relationship (married for 21) exploded 5 years ago. I didn't even think I could remember to breathe. But, now I have a DH I never expected to find and sure wasn't looking for. He's as kind and gentle and the ex was loud and unpredictable. Divorce is a terrible thing and never, ever easy, but it IS survivable. You have a future, with or without a man. *hugs* Believe me, you're going to be okay.

We decided no gifts this year since we ordered a new Dell On Saturday. Amazingly it has arrived so it is truly a Valentine gift. LOL We will go out to dinner and have a glass of wine Shortly.

Edited to add we will call our Daughter in Virginia later as her hubby is deployed on the Ashland at the moment.
