Any favorite hobbies? Does she play a musical instrument? How many people at the party?

Check this suggestion for Retro/Disco party:

http://www.party411.com/theme122.html

OR

Have a COLOURFUL birthday party [less expense for guests and host]

The theme is bright and cheery colours. Everyone is invited to wear their most colourful outfit/make-up/hairstyle etc.

Lots of colourful streamers, tablecloths etc. Food dye [lightly administered] will colour food and drinks.

Play traditional party games - it is remarkable how you "grown-up" teen will revert to childhood if offered the right games to play.

Treasure hunting, pass the parcel, pin the nose-stud on the rock-star - take your pick....

How about a book thats a math book, and then do a small purse and sit the purse on top of the open math book? ehh, not so good huh? I just see using a book pan, and making a purse, maybe with a cute fondant blouse too. Sorry... tapedshut.gif

When you said she loves to read. I got a little happy, I love to read too. If you have a printer for edible paper. Just make a transfer of her favorite book and go with that. I love "The Notebook". I would love a cake like that for myself. If any of you have read the book or seen the movie..(sigh) I think I'm in love with Noah Calhoun..LOL ok back to the party theme. icon_redface.gif A purse theme sounds good. I believe there are a few pictures here in the gallery for purses. Maybe a purse with a book just at the top coming out. And a book marker on the side reading Happy Birthday. You can make a pretty tassle for the book mark with fondant. hmm. I'm still thinking............ icon_rolleyes.gif
Oh hey how about a Tommy Hilfiger theme. Everyone loves his clothing. You can do a shirt cake with his color logo (you know the red/white/blue looking thing) and instead of having his name in the center of it you can add Happy Birthday. And make a small purse to match.. make it all white with a little Tommy Hilfiger logo on it. Hope this helps!!! Did I spell Hilfiger right? icon_confused.gif
