This is my 6th cake to date and my best one so far so I'm willing to share. I made it for a 9 year old girl's birthday party today. It's pink strawberry inside, pink fondant outside with buttercream piping and silver luster dust "paint"... this was my first stacked cake as well.
Wow...you should be very proud! I'm sure everyone was just...well,......Tickled Pink!!
Did you just "paint" the luster dust on the buttercream as a dry powder, or did you use extract or vodka?
The cake is awesome!!!
I think your cake is lovely and just perfect for a little girl's birthday. I bet she really liked it!
She is going to be tickled pink!!! I mean, tickled pink, she is going to just love it!! You did just a super terrific job....congrats!! Let us know how she likes it!!! The monogram is just so whimisical...and the scrolls look great!!
To answer, I painted the silver color on with lemon extract. I actually couldn't find "silver" so it's a 1/3 mix pearl dust, 1/3 mix teal, 1/3 mix disco ball .... all luster dusts, mixed up with a bit of lemon extract. Believe it or not teal and pearl come out silver.
Way to go!!!! I LOVE IT.. Excellent job. Keep up the good work, can't wait to see your 60th one at this rate......
