This recipe is the best cake recipe you will ever make. You can make vanilla, carrot, chocolate, and orange cake or whatever else you want to add to it. You can play around with this recipe. Its soo great that you can even take out the cake out of the oven before its baked and the cake will never fall, Its moist and fluffy, its soo fluffly you wont even have to cut out the top of the cake to frost it: Its sturdy enouph to be used as a pound cake. You can also double or triple the recipe. The most importand thing….its delicious. Hope you all like it
- Im going to give you the basic recipe and you can double or triple it to make as much batter you want.
- 1cup Hotcake or Pancake mix (any brand) sifted
- 1cup flour (any brand) sifted
- 1cup of vegetable oil (not olive oil) any vegetable or canola oil. note- not butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup milk (any milk)
- 6 eggs
- 1tbsp baking powder sift with flour
- 1tbsp baking soda sift with flour
- pinch of salt sift with flour
- pinch of nutmeg (optional) sift with flour
- 1tbsp of vanilla extract
note that if you are in a hurry you can mix everything together and viola!! if you have time note the directions.
1. mix with stand or hand mixer the eggs, sugar, oil and vanilla extract untill well combined about 1 min. So the batter is good tasting let it sit about 15 min. before mixing in all the flour products and the milk.
2. In the meantime you can sift ( Pancake flour, flour, baking powder, baking soda, nutmeg and salt
3. you then incorporate the flour mixture to the egg, sugar and oil mixture alternating to it the milk and flour.
4. prepare pans with flour and butter and pour batter, Quick tip!! once you pour the batter in your pans and you let it sit for about 30 min, your batter will rise sooo much you wont believe it. Make sure you pound the bottom of pan before putting in oven so it bakes firm and even.
For other flavors.
Chocolate cake– add 1 cup cocoa powder or to your liking. sift with flour mixture.
Carrot cake—add 1 cup of grated carrot, (cinnamon, walnuts, optional).
Orange cake—add 1/2 cup orange juice with tbsp zest or grated orange
Play around with this recipe and dont forget you can double or triple it, i always double it for bigger cake pans.
with this recipe you dont have to worry about anything just add all the ingredients as you please no worries and bake at the temperature you usually bake for about 45 min. or untill fork comes out clean.
HI I WILL LET YOU KNOW HOW I GO WITH THIS ,I,M NEW TO CAKE DECORATING . AND I USE TO COOK AND BAKE LOTS WHEN I WAS YOUNGER ,BUT STOPPED IF YOU COOK YOU HAVE TO EAT IT. AND THEN YOU GAIN WEIGHT LOL .. sO YEAH HAVE BIG FAMILY AND HUSBAND THATS ENJOYING THE BAKING NOW. I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO MASTER THE GROOMS CAKE BUT I JUST DON,T SEAM TO GET A CAKE ANY BIGGER THAN 5CM HIGH.. JUST FUSTRATING...TASTES GREAT BUT AND I,M NOT ALLOWED TO STOP BAKING IT. I HAVE A 18TH TO BAKE IN ABOUT 4 WEEKS SO I REALLY NEED TO GET A GREAT CHOCOLATE MUD CAKE TYPE OF CAKE SORTED BEFORE THEN ..SO IF YOU HAVE A SURGESTION I WOULD BE VERY APPREICATIVE, THANKS...
The cake is in the oven as we speak. But i can`t find the pan sizes and how high my oven temp has to be. Could you please help me with that, i have a nine inch pan and put it in the oven on 350 hope this is oke.
