I loved making this cake! The Mom wanted fairies that were neither cartoon - like nor Tinkerbell looking, so here is what I came up with. These fairies are a little edgier with their tattoos and gossamer wings. The cake was made in a silicon half soccer ball pan. The fairies were made from modeling chocolate inside, covered in fondant. The wings were made from gelatin that I let dry in a thin sheet, I then cut the shape of wing I wanted and hand painted with vodka and gel paste, enhanced with disco dust. Thanks for looking!
