Pregnant Belly Cake

Pregnant Belly Cake on Cake Central

Okay..so here is my rendition of Awiscar's beautiful Pregnant belly cake. The breasts were straight forward as they were mini wondermolds.I covered those in flesh colored fondant first. Then I covered the belly in 3 separate panels.I did the front one first and the sides next using dowel sticks to make the pleats and letting it sit for a bit to form.Second I did the bodice and just folded over fondant and layed one over top of the other starting from the top down.Lastly was the belt and brooch.I made the brooch in advance with isomalt but it was kinda cloudy..Next time I will do it properly on the stove.Lastly...I sprayed it with sky blue and pearl sheen mixed and then just pearl for the belt and skin.I added wilton blue sugar beads randomly around the skirt and bodice.I used an 8 inch round half ball pan for the belly which comes in the Betty Crocker Bake N Fill cakepan set.Took about 3 hours to decorate. Thanks to Awiscar for such a beautiful inspiring cake in which I'm sure it will be done time and time again!!
