Duckie Cake!

Duckie Cake! on Cake Central

This was my first commissioned cake! The little girl was turning 7 yrs old and wanted a duckie cake for her bday party! She even drew me a picture of what she wanted! She was very insistant on duckies with party hats! I stayed true to it, but just embellished it "a little"! =) The cake was yellow with buttercream icing. The daisies were made by my wonderful sister, Cathy! (She's the best ever! She helped me a lot with the coloring...and over-all, helped me keep my sanity!) Both the flowers and the ducks were made out of royal icing. I found this really cute pic of a duckie online, printed it out, taped the picture to cardboard, taped wax paper over that...then traced it out with icing, and flooded in with colors. When it dried (which took over 24 hours), I went back in and added the details. I CAREFULLY took the duckies off the wax paper and placed them on the cake. I used a can of blue (icing) spay to spray paint the top for the water.
