Wedding cake for older couple that didn't want a traditional cake. The top tier of the 'stacked presents' is fake. The inside is styrofoam, instead of cake. This way, the couple has something to remember. She was wearing purple, hence the coloring.
I like so many things about this beautiful cake, I'm not sure where to start. I do like the presents each being a different shape and design. You did such nice work on them. I thought having the bottom tier round was very attractive on this cake. The bow on top was so perfect.
Gosh, thanks all! I have decorating cakes for a year now and this was my first wedding cake assignment. I am quite proud ;o). I used two patchwork cutters by Marion Frost: the Art Nouveau Tulip for the fake (upper) tier, and the Open Rose for the second tier. I bought them last November at a cake fair in Birmingham, UK.
