Base Cake is an 11x15 iced in BC. The Princess is Covered in Fondant with fondant details. Crown and scepter are gumpaste and the birthday greeting ribbon is also fondant. I have brushed the everything with pearl dust to give a little extra sparkle.
Critique Group Member: wow- the luster dust gave it a wonderful finish- looks the way a princess dress should look! Your border looks nice, clean and even.Your gumpaste things are great! I really like the crown- tall and thin works on this cake!!
Critique Subgroup Member: I agree with the others about using thinner fondant on those details. I like the bottom border color burst and the reverse shell on the top adds a nice touch. It took me a while to notice the star wand. I wonder if you could add some color to make it stand out. A different color handle or light purple/pink dust on the star might help make it more noticible. I like the sparkliness of the cake.
Critique Group Member: Great job, I am sure the person getting this cake loved it. The purple is a nice shade and your bottom border really accents the cake well.
Critique Group Member: Very beautiful job! I love how the border sets off the colors. Your fondant and gumpaste work look great. I would encourage you to try to roll out your gumpaste much thinner. For the swag around the dress you could even mix 1/2 gumpaste and 1/2 fondant to make the swag thin. The bow on the dress looks beautiful too! Oh, and the pearl dust on the dress adds a beautiful touch.

Critique group member: Cute! Her dress is absolutely beautiful! I agree though that it would be good to roll out the fondant thinner espcially for the banner.
Critique Subgroup Member: What little girl wouldn't want this cake!!!! Your piping is excellent. Your colors are lovely and your vinette is not too crowded. I think for your limited exposure on the fondant you have done quite well. It is just me tho and I would have liked more bling on the crown. If ya gotta have a crown is should be a super duper crown.
Critique Group Member: Just beautiful! Everything looks so clean and professional. I love her dress - especially the swags - perfectly done. Maybe a few more cutouts on the crown for some more 'bling.' You did a fantastic job on this - nice use of the cake top!
critique group member. I really like the set up of this cake. Everything fits so well in it's place. I agree about a thinner fondant and a litte more bling on the crown.
