Gardener's 50Th Birthday

I was asked to do a 50th birthday cake with these instructions: A cake in the shape of the 50th, with writing on it, with a custard filling for a classy, elegant woman who loves gardening....this is the best I could do! This cake was a nightmare from start to finish....the 50th is made from cake,....it fell apart when I placed it on the sheet cake, the board cracked in half after I placed the cake into the box, smooshing the five & the zero into eachother!! I'm surprised the cake looks decent after it all!

Thanks for the info, gma1956! I haven't done many rectangular cakes, so the folding cake board was a definite learning experience!!

I REALLY LIKE THIS ONE!!!! Great Job. You need to use about 3 to 4 boards taped together then covered in paper, it won't bend when you pick it up! You did and excellent job!

I am having a 50th birthday party for my mom & have been racking my brain about her birthday cake! I am no longer racking my brain. Beautiful cake!! Very Classy!!
