Buttercream Transfer
For my daughter's third birthday. She loved Pinochio. I got a picture, taped it on the back of a pan and put a piece of plastic wrap over it. Carefully outlining each of the figures, I filled them in, making sure the entire surface was at least ¼" thick. Put the pan in the freezer until it was hard. Then picked up the plastic wrap and placed it icing side down on the cake, pressed and removed the plastic wrap. A few minor adjustments and it was completed, except for borders and writing. She was thrilled!
Very detailed and beautifully done!! Great job!
Looks great! Lots of work in that, wonderful!
Thanks so much.
My goodness. I would have sworn that was an edible image. GREAT JOB!
I have never seen a BCT done with such detail, wonderful job. what consist of icing and what tips did you use?
The finest tube I used was #2. The icing was my normal consistency with no thinning. It helps when transferring the image to the cake. Since it was my daughter's cake I didn't worry about how much time it took. It was a pure labor of love. Did take about an hour, though.
thanks for the info, once again you did a wonderful job
Wonderful cake! I've always wanted to know how to do buttercream transfer.....Now I do! Thanks!!
Thanks so much. Since I never had a projector, this is how I've always done artwork on cakes. Now, with the computer, it's much easier to enlarge pictures and such to do buttercream transfers.
