Hi All,
I am just curious as to everyone's ages here at CC. When I see a really awesome cake, I just assume it's made by someone who's been decorating for years and years and envision some "older" lady doing it. I totally realize I'm wrong in that assumption though. I figure most people are in their 30's here.... let's see.
So if you're game, please share your age. I'll be 42 in two weeks.

OK, OK, I"ll play. I'm 30....but will be 31 in Dec.
(Actually, I didn't have a problem turning 30, and I don't think 31 will be an issue either)
Wow, GuitarChef, I just felt really old reading your post. I remember fifteen . . . half a lifetime ago! (and then a few years!)
Thanks for starting this thread! I often wonder the ages of my fellow CC'ers.
I am 30!
Im 38
Its amazing to "see" so many young(ish) people in cake decorating. In South Africa this hobby seems to be for the more mature generation
I'm 35 but I certainly felt old at work at couple of days ago when I realised I was actually old enough to be the mother of the girl sat next to me.
I must be the grandmother of cake central, I am 67. I began doing cakes when I was 20.

KimAz...I am 41 and will 42 in a few more days. I have been decorating for almost a year.
Great Idea !!!
I have been decorating for my family for almost 2 years it a hobby for me love it !!!!
I'm 31
Sorry, Shirley, but I claim title to oldest here at least until somebody older shows up! I had my 70th BD in August, which means I'm older'n dirt, but at some point you have to start bragging about those birthdays! By the way, my mother will be 92 on the 26th of November.
This is a neat thread, like everybody else, I read the threads and wonder about the person. Janice
PS those 70 years and bad knees prompted me to use the Cakewalker avatar, it seemed perfect for me.
I'll play. I'm 44 and have been decorating for 1 1/2 years. I am totally amazed at the beautiful creations on this site and by (what I consider) such young women!!!

Tuggy---How long have you been decorating???

Cake decorating in the English/American way since 1993. But I had my confectionary training (typical German stuff) form 1989-92 - gosh I´m old....
I'm 55 and while I've been baking/cooking since I was about 10 (gosh, that's 45 years!!!), I"ve only been decorating "the Wilton Way" for a little over a year. However, when my son was growing up, I made all his birthday cakes by Bakers Cut Up Cake book - I made planes, trains, race cars, rocket ships, tigers, etc. Decorated on my own. Never owned a piping tip or a bag until I took the Wilton Class so I can decorate for the granchildren.
I'll be 32 next Sunday. I've been decorating for about 11 yrs. and I also teach Wilton.
