excellent job
how'd you get that raised lettering on the tailgate? that's awesome!
----
tho' --- ACK -- it's the same color as my dad's old truck when I was growing up!
-----
suggestion: could you paint the styrofoam black to make less noticeable?

I made the letters by hand and then stuck them to the tailgate

After what I went through to make that thing they were lucky to get the white styrofoam! LOL By the time I was done with it I was too tired to try to do anything about the styrofoam. She saw it before hand and was fine with it. If I had to do it again I would make it black
Thanks
Thank y'all for your compliments. As difficult as this cake was I grately appreciate it.
that is so cool!!! Sorry you had so much trouble but like my honey says, the first one's a bi### the next one is always better.

and I just noticed the little tailgate latch too.
wow -- you certainly are good at tiny details
WOW That is outstanding. I can't even BEGIN to imagine the time it took (and patience) of which I have none. GREAT JOB!
I'm gonna hafta show my dad this one. He has one of those. Full size, not cake though LOL
My husband and son are car guys-- I need to try and do that someday. You did a great job! I may be getting in touch with you for pointers!

Awesome job. This was well executed.
Instead of painting the base you can use a strip of black fondant as well. Roll it out as thing as possible so you don't require much.
it's the smallest details that make or break your cake!
So, now you got something you thought you couldn' t do under your belt and you made it impressive.
So...Now, you can do ANYTHING you set your mind to.
Good job!
Good job. My hubby has one of these that he is "suppose" to be working on. Yours looks way better.
