Pennywise
I made this cake for my son's 22nd birthday. Pennywise has an egg-shaped rice cereal treat base attached to PVC pipe with a 50/50 mix of modeling chocolate and fondant used to sculpt the head, hair, and neck. His shirt is fondant and his ruffles are rice paper. I ran out of time and would have liked to have added more ruffles, but it still came out pretty good!

My Husband's 50Th Birthday
My husband turned 50 this year! So, to make it a special day, I created a cake replica of the car he had when we first met over 26 years ago, a 1978 blue Trans am. It was his baby when we he was younger. It was the first 3D car I've ever made. It was totally fun and I can't wait to do another 3D car!

Rustburg Graduate
This 3-tiered graduation cake was red velvet with cream cheese icing as filling. It was covered in white chocolate ganache before decorating with fondant. The crown is carved cake. The cap is rice cereal treat covered and topped in fondant. The theme of the cake was a Rustburg High School graduate moving up to JMU.

1St Wedding Cake
This was my first contracted wedding cake and my second actual wedding cake. Each layer was a different flavor: the bottom tier was chocolate cake with cream cheese chocolate mousse, the second tier was strawberry cake with cream cheese mousse and strawberry jam, the third tier was lemon cake with cream cheese mousse and lemon curd. The rosettes are Swiss meringue buttercream. The bride wanted a simple rustic cake with burlap. The groom wanted a traditional wedding cake with flowers. The cake was created to try and blend their two styles. They were both happy with the outcome.

Mad Hatter Tea Party
This Mad Hatter Tea Party cake was a graduation cake, but they didn't want any mention of graduation on the cake, lol. Everything on it is hand-made and 100% edible, including the chair, which was my first attempt at using pastillage. The table is vanilla cake covered in a fondant table cloth. The tree stump is rice cereal treat covered in fondant. The remaining decorations were made with fondant. Royal icing grass was used as an accent. I loved this cake so much I almost kept it for myself!

Retirement Cake
This 2-tier retirement cake is for a woman who loves to travel. Being in Central Virginia, a common mode of transportation is taking the train to DC and NY. The "Stay In Your Lane" sign is just one of the little personal touches specifically for the recipient since it's her motto at work.
