Last minute birthday cake for a 5 year old princess. TFL
Wanted to do the ruffle technique, so I did this one and took it to work.
This technique is way easier than I thought. I colored the same frosting pink, but the consistency changed and the roses didn't come out right. This is Wilton's icing from Michael's. I'm going to make a sturdy buttercream next time, but keep in mind adding the liquid color. I think I'll buy the powder colors going forward instead so I don't have to change the icing consistency. Really fun to do.
My first cake order since TX became legal!!! Simple chocolate top and vanilla bottom cake with buttercream under fondant. Flowers are gumpaste and fondant mixture and were influenced by all the talent here on CC!
My best friend's 40th birthday cake. The zebra theme is so hot right now so thought I'd go with that. Was frustrated with the icing because I couldn't get it as smooth as I would like and I ran out of work time, so I had to just go with it. TFL
I did this cake, or I was DOING this cake when Hurricane Ike came through Houston in 2008. The power went out so I couldn't finish it! It was fun though!

This is my first cake made with pirouettes. I wanted to see how it would look. It's banana cake with strawberry/banana buttercream with poured ganache and M&M's. I plan on doing fresh fruit instead of M&M's on my actual cake. This one will be given to my best friend's kids.
