Chocolate Sails And Drip Cake
My first attempt with chocolate sails was for my twins' 28th birthday. My husband and I with our daughter, traveled about 9 hours to my son's and daughter's-in-law home. I took the cake in a cooler and decorated and assembled it while at their place. I made strawberry cake filled with strawberry cream cheese icing and iced with plain cream cheese buttercream icing. I made a chocolate ganache to drip over the cake, then added the chocolate sails and some of their favorite chocolates and candies.

Fifty And Fabulous!
I made a cake for my twin sister and myself for our 50th birthday this year. I wanted to try my hand at gum paste flowers. I need a lot more practice! But I had fun and even tried a couple of new cake recipes with this one. I made strawberry cake filled with cream cheese icing and crushed strawberries for the bottom tier and gluten free chocolate cake (for me and my then new dietary restrictions) covered with chocolate ganache. (I was just learning about my wheat allergy and didn't realize chocolate often contains wheat or is crosss-contaminated in the factory. Oops!)

First Birthday Cake And Smash Cake
I made my granddaughter's first birthday cake and smash cake. It was a labor of love and my first time at a smash cake session. What a blast! My DIL set the baby and smash cake on the floor covered with a plastic table cloth and let her go at it. She smashed that cake, then crawled over to me seated on the floor taking pictures and promptly climbed into my lap. What a laugh we had! We were both covered in cake and icing.

Baby It's Cold Outside
Themed Baby shower cake. My client wanted three tiers but didn't need that many servings, so the middle tier is a styrofoam disc covered in chevron fabric and corrugated cake boards on top and bottom. I used my small sleeping baby mold for the topper and added the hat and booties. (I was sent photos of cakes for inspiration. The client liked separate elements of three different cakes.)

Cheetah Print Purse Cake With Modelling Chocolate Stiletto
Cheetah print added with edible markers. Everything is edible except the handles of the bag; they have wire inserted into them to hold the curved shape. I added them to the cake by pushing straws into the cake and placed the ends of the wires into the straws.
