Hi, my name is Jennifer, I was born with a brittle bone condition called Osteogenisis Imperfecta (OI) and have had over 200 fractures (mainly in my legs) and over 20 surgeries. I am blessed with a wonderful husband who supports me and helped give me our beautiful/wonderful son, Jayden. Jayden was also born with OI but he is doing remarkably well with only 8 fractures so far (currently 4 years old). I kind of fell into cake making you could say. A friend asked me to help her make figures for a baby shower cake she was making a friend, I had never done anything like it before but I figured why not I'll try to be helpful, and from that day on I've been working on cakes. I'm self taught with everything, I have wanted to take a few classes/courses on particular techniques but haven't had the money to do so as of yet. I never would have thought I could pull off some of the stuff I've made, I really surprised myself when I tried sugar flowers for the first time, and they are especially my favorite thing to make now. My legs aren't the best, and there are many days its hard to get out of bed, but my hands work great and it brings a lot of joy to my life to know that I made that, and its now bringing joy to someone else. I'd love to buy a shop and open a bakery one day, but for the time being I'm working out of my kitchen and a room in my home that I've dedicated to cake decorating strictly. :)
