Cake is iced in buttercream and wave is made from isomalt. The sea creatures and coral inside the isomalt are painted onto wafer paper. Seashells and flowers are fondant and modeling chocolate.
The client requested a buttercream covered cake, which made me nervous with this design since I have a hard time with straight, square edges. It took me two hours to ice and smooth but I like how it turned out! Cheerios cereal box is iced in crusting buttercream, smoothed with the viva method. It has hand cut fondant decorations, and tappits were used for the other lettering. The nutrition label and barcode were hand painted. Thanks for looking!
