My 12-year-old daughter made this delicious chocolate cake with buttercream frosting and fondant kitty and flowers for her grandma'a birthday. I think she did a wonderful job!

Ok, this is not my best work technically, and I don't even think this is a very good picture, but this was a truly "inspired" cake. Our Boy Scout troop sells and delivers mulch every year to fund their activities. It's an enormous, exhausting undertaking. I made this cake for them during their weekend delivery. The angel is a former, beloved scoutmaster for more than 20 years, who died of a stroke a couple years ago. He never married or had kids, except for the hundreds of scouts he mentored over the years. He started the mulch program. I believe his spirit is with the boys through this cake. I believe, he actually inspired me to do this.

A young autistic boy wanted a cake from his favorite movie "the Sandlot." I made the head of the English mastiff and the legs and tail out of rice Krispy treats. The body is three tiers of cake- 1 vanilla with lemon curd filling and almond buttercream, 1 chocolate cake with caramel praline filling and chocolate buttercream, 1 yellow with chocolate buttercream. Baseball is white cake with raspberry curd and fresh raspberries covered in chocolate buttercream and fondant. The boys mother is a bride-to-be who asked me to do her wedding cake, so her sons birthday cake doubles as a cake tasting.
