Cake for a wedding reception. Biggest challenge was the water underneath the submarine. I rolled a thin 8" gumpaste disk, added thinned buttercream dollops of different colored buttercream and navy blue gel coloring, then rolled a clean (brand new and washed with detergent) paint roller back and forth through the dollops. Then transferred the disk of gumpaste to the top of the cake. I wanted a clean border around the water and this was the method I came up with. See YouTube video for my inspiration at .
