Made from vanilla sponge, with buttercream and raspberry filling, covered with claret sugarpaste and embellished with gold writing and rose. Made for a friend for his girlfriend. So pleased with how this turned out, adore the style of it, and can't wait to try more with this style of cake. When he saw it, my son said "wow, I could read it with my mouth!"
The idea for this cake is based on my next tattoo, a blue bird of paradise. While I was thinking about the tattoo, I figured it would be a nice idea to make the tattoo the centre point for a wedding theme, so have the wedding flowers, decorations, bridemaids etc all in varying shades of blue and turquoise, and of course the wedding cake...and here it is!
Fell in love with this little owl cake, made from vanilla sponge, covered in buttercream, dressed in pink ombre hearts and finished with a little bow and pearly wings :)
This is the cake I made for my own birthday in January, really enjoyed making it, used two leftover and undecorated christmas cakes and it was Delicious!!
