And this was the Miracle cake !!!! Yes, because in the state that got there … (transport box was all broken, the pieces were inside, the lid jumped and the cake had one of the sides crushed…) I NEVER thought I could fix it … But after a long night … and hours with the smoother and my sister help (thanks Elsa ♥) and a few more hours to place the applications, behold the unthinkable happens and beyond … SILVER Medal !!!! This was my entry for a Small Decorative Exhibit Class, my Bronze medal from Cake International London that I haven´t shared with you yet. It was slightly dented and had some marks from the transportation, to tell you the true I don’t know how that roses got there in one piece, but never the less I still find it adorable and I’m very happy with the Bronze!!! Hi lovely people!!!! Finally had some free time today…. UUFFAAAA It’s been none stopping for some weeks now… I have so many cakes to share with you all… and so many to catch up… Well this was my Gold award from the Irish Sugarcraft Competition on Dublin. As you can see it was a Miniature Class, it had 15cm X15cmx15cm. My Classic Wedding Cake… CLASS 19 – Wedding Cake – Classic – Open. Well, this was an epic experience!! I took this huge cake from Portugal to Ireland on the the aircraft hold, YES it went downstairs with all the luggage… and YES it got there in one piece!! Lol I just had to add the pearls and the flowers And I brought him back again on the aircraft hold and took all this photos when I got home. These were my 4 Seasons Owls… CLASS 22 – Cupcakes, A Bakers dozen: Seasons – Open. We had to do 4 different decorative styles. When I got to Dublin I notice that in the rules it said “No artificial decorations”… although I considered the nests display not part of the cupcakes decoration… I asked around and I was advised to replace it for sugar paste… I was up until 3 AM to do it… and guess what??? I was lucky that they didn’t got declassified!! We can not cover the cupcake cases… but they still got a BRONZE!!! :) I’m posting the before and after photos so that you can see the difference. Well, this is my Mickey through the ages… CLASS 24 – Cake Top Ornament – Toys through the ages – Open. It can’t have any internal structure, has to be all edible and it must not be attached to the board so that it could be removed from the board. When I left Portugal he was fine but when he got to Ireland (probably because of the humidity) he didn’t stay up… :( He was considered damage in transit but he still got it HIGHLY COMMENTED (like a Merit) !!! :) And guess what… when he got to Portugal he was standing up again!!!! This was my contribution to the ACTS OF GREEN COLLABORATION – UNSA 2016. Earth Day is an annual event created to celebrate the planet’s environment and raise public awareness about pollution, because we seem to have forgotten what a beautiful gift we have been given in the form of planet Earth. We also seem to have forgotten that this is our home and we need to keep it in order to stay healthy and alive. I chose to do a strong tree holding our planet earth as a way to show that if we cherish and take care of our earth it will flourish and stay strong. Let us return some balance to our planet this Earth Day, so that our planet and all those who inhabit it can coexist in peace. Acts of Green is a way of celebrating our planet and all who reside here. The over 400 members of UNSA would like to invite you to be part of this amazing experience and make everyday about Earth Day!! Hello Lovely people!!!! Sorry I’ve been MIA… so many news and cakes to show you, I don’t even know where to begin with… But let’s start with a sweet little fairy… I was honored to have been asked to make a fairy for the Away with the fairies Collaboration Over 100 cake decorators had to do a sugar fairy and send it to Ireland, where they where displayed in a sugar forest as a center piece for the Irish Sugar Craft show last weekend in Dublin. I was there to see her and all her friends and let me tell you what an amazing piece… Magical!! My fairy name is Flora and she was inspired in one of Anne Stokes amazing fairies that I absolutely love and wanted to do for ages… Throughout the world, fairies are known for their timeless beauty and with so many different stories, legends, myths and fairy tales, it’s easy to see why fairies are said to be truly amazing magical creatures, with many skills. Fairy tales have inspired children for generations, and given each and every one of us, a glimmer of fairy magic to keep close to our hearts. Where you believe there is magic … you will find it! My fairy on her sugar mushroom is 5 inches high and made from saracino modelling paste and her wings are made from wafer paper Thank you Philip and Breda and the whole team for setting up this amazing and magical collaboration. I’m so proud of this little guy, he got 3ºPlace on the Threadcakes 3D cake competition 2015, and he was featured on Cake Masters Magazine of this month. Well, this one was a surprise cake…My friend wanted to surprise her husband, but she only asked me 48h before and I had two cakes to deliver on that day… I told her only if it was very simple cake… She didn’t now what she wanted, so I asked her what was he’s favorite thing.
