I absolutely loved making this cake from start to finish. The decorations are all made from fondant yet look like gingerbread. The gingerbread house looks great on top, with a string of christmas bunting on the top tier. The train sits perfectly on the middle tier while the bottom tier has a little christmas village of shops...what's not to love? Loved putting this Christmas Cake together. I love how the blue compliments the colour of the gingerbread people and works perfectly with the red and green. Cute Dumbo the Elephant Fondant Cake Topper Would you like to know how to make Dumbo? I have a tutorial where I demonstrate step by step how I made Dumbo with Gumpaste (modelling paste). This character looks great on top of a cake and you can also use this tutorial to make Dumbo with clay and place on a plaque as a gift. Dumbo the Elephant is not a character that I have created. It's a famous Disney Character that appears in many books and a movie and is loved by children and adults alike.
Sometimes it's difficult to design a cake for a teenager. There are lots of adult themes and children's themes but there is that part in between where they don't feel like children but they aren't quite an adult. This is why I came up with this design...adding a few of the things teenagers like to do/wear and also not forgetting those emoji's. I think they look great on the cake. I loved making this very romantic wedding cake. This was my first cake I entered in to Cake International 6 years ago and I was delighted to be awarded GOLD in my category. The ruffles were a new design texture and drew a lot of interest from the judges and public. Each ruffle was individually made and took hours but I think they are worth the time.
