Quilted Birthday Cake
This was a quick family cake. I decided to try my hand at the quilted look. It turned out alright, but I definitely need to practice that some more. I used ribbon on the bottom. I'm not big on using inedible materials in my cakes, but I saw this in the store and thought it would add some pop around the bottom of a cake.

Toronto Maple Leafs Jersey / Hockey Jersey
I taught a decorating class to some junior/senior high students. A couple of the students completed all of the homework one week, so I rewarded them with cupcakes decorated with some of their favourite activities. This student loves hockey, the Maple Leafs to be exact :)

Beanie Boo Cat
My daughter's Beanie Boo birthday party. This was the first time I tried to do RKT (though I used fruity pebbles since our cakes are gluten free). I think my cat turned out OK, but I couldn't figure out how to get the eyes like the teddy bear's eyes. I ended up calling this my bug eyed boo :) All the kids loved it though and several thought I had put a real Beanie Boo on the cake. What a compliment.

African Violets
This birthday cake was for a dear friend. I found a cute earthy looking candle holder to use as the "pot." Added a small 2 layer cake to the jar. Then I broke up some broken cake bits to give it a dirt look on the top. Placed my leaves and flowers on the top as the finishing touches.

Grumpy Cat My First Cake Of The Year I Painted The Cat On Modelling Chocolate I Had Some Fun Firsts With This Cake This Was The First
Grumpy Cat. My first cake of the year. I painted the cat on modelling chocolate. I had some fun firsts with this cake. This was the first time I played with modelling chocolate, used my new letter stencils, and use my clay extruder. Ooo. I like that extruder! I will get many, many boarders out of it!

This Was For A Milestone 65Th Birthday I Wanted To Make A More Elegant Cake Everyone Was Saying These Cakes Were Easy I Was Surprised
This was for a Milestone 65th birthday. I wanted to make a more elegant cake. Everyone was saying these cakes were easy. I was surprised it was so simple and beautiful! I will be whipping out this cake again because of it's beauty and ease. I used regular chocolate chips and white chocolate chips. The top was just left over chocolate that I ran through a grater.

Phineas & Ferb Agent Perry Cake
We are a Phineas and Ferb family. This is Perry breaking out of a secret tunnel in the backyard. About a month before my husband's birthday, he mentioned if he could choose his birthday cake, he would choose Phineas and Ferb. I tucked that info away and delivered. I was inspired by other CC members

I Wanted To Make A Cake Inspired By The Rose Window In Notre Dame I Hand Painted The Cake Unfortunately I Ran Out Of Time Before The Ev
I wanted to make a cake inspired by the Rose Window in Notre Dame. I hand painted the cake. Unfortunately, I ran out of time before the event, so it ended up being a very simplified version of the window. It was fun to work on painting and see a vision out though.

Deer Hunting
This cake was for my dad when he came to visit us. It was the first person I made. The deer was the hardest part of the cake. I tried making it a full deer, but I couldn't get it to stand up. I was trying to just use tiny wire and fondant (I think I needed to use gum paste or heavier wire). Originally he was going to be standing in front of the 2 trees. I ended up just working on the face and making him peek out, so I didn't need the rest of the body. I also couldn't get the antlers to stay up, so the tree held them up. All in all, I think it turned out to be a nice surprise for my dad who has never seen any of my cakes.
